What is a concept photoshoot?
A concept photoshoot is a creative, story-driven session built around a specific idea, emotion, or aesthetic.
Unlike traditional client sessions, these shoots are designed primarily for artistic expression, storytelling, and portfolio development. Each concept is thoughtfully crafted to bring a vision to life, whether that’s exploring mood, testing new techniques, or capturing imagery that reflects a unique creative direction.
These sessions allow me to experiment freely with lighting, styling, posing, and editing, resulting in distinctive, emotive images that carry depth and artistic intention.
What does this mean for the model/s?
When you’re part of a concept photoshoot, I take full creative direction, from styling and posing to the overall storytelling. This allows me to stay true to the artistic vision and ensure the final images align with the concept’s theme.
Because these sessions are designed as creative collaborations, they come at a discounted rate compared to standard client sessions. This reflects the shared benefit, you’re helping bring a creative vision to life, and in return, you receive a beautifully directed experience and a full gallery of professional images.
You’ll receive access to the full gallery of edited images and are welcome to use them freely for personal use or self-promotion (such as your social media or portfolio).
As part of the collaboration, I also retain permission to use the images for marketing, portfolio, and promotional purposes, which helps showcase the creative work we’ve built together.
What to Expect During the Session.
During your session, I’ll fully direct you through storytelling poses, helping you feel natural, confident, and emotionally connected throughout the shoot. My goal is to guide you in a way that brings the story to life while allowing your unique energy to shine through.
There will also be behind-the-scenes (BTS) content captured on my iPhone, with the help of an assistant, who will be present to assist with lighting, styling adjustments, and documenting the creative process. These BTS moments may be used for marketing and social media, giving a glimpse into the magic behind the final images.
Wardrobe, Styling & Hair and Makeup
Each concept shoot has its own unique mood and story, so styling plays a big part in bringing that vision to life.
For shoots that involve something out of the norm, like themed looks, creative concepts, or more stylised imagery, I may provide wardrobe pieces and styling elements to help complete the vision. You’ll be guided beforehand on what to bring or wear so everything flows beautifully with the concept.
For simpler or more natural concepts, models are responsible for bringing appropriate attire that aligns with the chosen theme. I’ll always communicate in advance what style, colours, or textures will photograph best so you feel fully prepared.
As for hair and makeup, this will need to be done by the model prior to arriving at the session. In most cases, I’ll request a natural look, soft, minimal makeup and effortless hair that keeps the focus on emotion and storytelling. This helps maintain the authenticity and timeless feel that’s true to my photographic style.

The concept photoshoot is completely directed and driven by me.

I retain full creative rights over the session and images, meaning, I will guide posing, styles, locations, times to achieve the desired look and have the right to use the images at my will for marketing purposes.

A full model release agreement will need to be signed by all models.

The session is at a discounted rate. A $150 deposit to secure your photoshoot will be required on booking and then the balance will be due 3 days before your session.

BTS will be captured for marketing.

The session will run for a minimum of 1 hour.

You will also receive a full gallery for your use too!

Wardrobe and styling will be organised with the model, (I will provide some wardrobe depending on the shoot style).

I will always provide any props and accessories needed.
